The B & B on Broadway offers a cozy, intimate retreat run by a family who cares about the Earth and social justice issues. We strive to reduce our footprint on our Earth by sharing our home with you. Caring for the Earth and its people is reflected in our amenities.
Gas fireplace. The large fireplace in the living room uses natural gas. During the winter, we light it most evenings.
Wireless Internet. We have wireless Internet access available for guest use throughout the house. Cards in each room display the latest password.
Cable TV. Every room has a TV connected to basic cable programming.
Toiletries. We provide Dr. Bronner’s soap in every room. This ecofriendly product works for your face, body, hair, and the Earth.
Hair dryers, irons, and ironing boards. Available upon request.
Cleaning and fresh linens. We enjoy providing a clean, comfortable home for you with fresh linens. During your stay, fresh towels are available upon request. For guests staying longer than three days, fresh linens and cleaning service are available upon request.
Guest laundry. Self-service laundry is available to guests upon request.
Air conditioning. The B & B has central air conditioning throughout the house. Rooms 2 through 5 on the second floor share one system. We ask that second floor guests let us know if they are too cool or too hot rather than adjusting the controls themselves. Room 1 on the third floor has its own climate control that guests can control.
Air purifier. The B & B's HVAC includes an air purification system that reduces pathogens and other airborne particles, including viruses.
Guest refrigerator. Room 1 on the third floor has a private in-room mini fridge. All guests can use the small refrigerator located in the hall closet on the first floor.
Early morning coffee and tea. The dining room has a small beverage area with coffee and teas available for early morning risers. Impact Coffee, a craft coffee shop and roaster located in downtown Decorah, brews the coffee beans.
Bicycles. A bicycle barn where you can lock and store your bicycle is coming soon!
Socializing, reading and writing. The living room and dining room are available to guests 24/7. On weekends, we offer refreshments from 5 pm to 7 pm in the living room. While we can’t promise that you’ll always find someone to talk to, please enjoy the living room and dining room for reading, writing, or relaxing.
Closets. No closets, but hall trees or several hooks are available in every room. Imagine how in 1910 (when the house was built) you would have had only a few outfits and even fewer shoes!!
Anything you’re missing. If there’s something you need, please ask us. We often have what you are looking for.
