Celebrating the Season

The B&B season has begun! Does it really ever end? Whether it’s graduations, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day; 4th of July and Nordic Fest; family reunions and friends’ weekends away; anniversaries and weddings; homecoming and fall festivals; or Christmas at Luther and new year celebrations, the B & B on Broadway welcomes and celebrates everyone.

This year—actually this past weekend of Luther College graduation 2026—marks the 20th year of the B&B on Broadway. The previous owners, Lois and Dean Humpal, opened the B&B graduation weekend at Luther College, 2006. Matthew and Melissa bought the property and the B&B business from the Humpal’s in December of 2016. Many seasons, many celebrations over many decades in this home built in 1910.

What we are celebrating this season:

Birth of our immigrant nation
– Nordic Fest 2026. We had a cancellation and have one room available. Three night minimum. July 23-26, 2026.
– The U.S.A. is 250 years old. We are booked 4th of July weekend, but several weekends have availability this summer of celebration. Book your stay today.

Stones
– Our stonewall fence in the backyard is happening! After many years of planning and saving rocks and gates from the 1800s (we knew you all were wondering what we planned to do with all that stuff), you can see our stone fence take shape.

Backgates
Sidegate
SidePathSunburst

– Melissa’s nonfiction children’s book, STONE BY STONE: A ROCK’S JOURNEY THROUGH TIME, rolls onto shelves August 4! It’s available for pre-order from Bookshop, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.

May you have many reasons to celebrate throughout the B&B season.

If you are in the Driftless, please join us in celebrating at the B&B on Broadway,
Melissa & Matthew
